Cold AC on one side and hot on the other

hi, so it looks like I have major AC problem, hot air on driver side and cold on passenger side, i did take of the glove compartment and I'm down to the fact that the AC door flap in the distribution box is not moving the actuator gear that is connected to the blend door is broken and the but the major problem it that this small part coming out of the distribution box that the gear for a on is broken as well, it looks like I need to replace the AC distribution box. did anyone ever have same problem or similar.

A few people have been down this road before. Try searching the forums. I searched with "blend door" and found this :
https://www.jeepcommander.com/forums...door-gear.html

Also, the Cherokees from the same year as Commanders use the same heater and a/c's. Try searching their forums as well.

As I recall, someone on the net had a replacement door designed to go into place easier and with less fuss.
