Difference between steering racks

Hey guys,

Does anyone know what the difference is between the 2006-2008 rack and pinion assembly and the 2009-2010? Thanks.

Rock Auto shows several of the same rack & pinions as fitting both 2006 and 2010, including parts from BBB / VISION-OE, AC Delco and A-1 Cardone.

However, the Mopar ones DON'T appear to be interchangeable. Upon further investigation, the aftermarket brands don't come with outer tie-rod ends, where the Mopar ones do.

It gets muddy from there, as some of the tie rod ends seem to work with both, but some don't.

My guess is it has something to do with the tie rod ends, perhaps a slightly different length?

The inner tie rods seem to be preinstalled on all of them, perhaps the aftermarket units are built to accommodate all model years, where the Mopar ones aren't?

From what I can see, the difference is the inner tie rods, which are preinstalled on the rack & pinion units. The outers are the same part number, where the inners are different and appear from the photos to be different lengths.
