3.7 HVAC compressor pulley replacement

My magnetic clutch HVAC pulley whines, indicating the bearings are wearing out.

Note - - this is with the AC compressor OFF, so the noise is from the pulley bearing, not inside the compressor.

Question - is the magnetic clutch pulley service replaceable?

I'm trying to follow you here Chuck;

Why do you think it might not be replaceable?

The compressor clutch assembly can be serviced. And the good thing is, it can be serviced with the refrigerant system fully charged.
It does require a couple of special tools. And you have to be very, very careful,that everything is reinstalled properly.
If you're going to try to do this yourself. Follow the directions. Otherwise you'll be replacing the whole compressor.

Thanks all, well, i called an auto parts store and they could not find a replacement.

Mine whines and if memory serves, i did this on my suburban ac compressor years back.

I know i will need a puller plus make certain i get the alignment correct when reinstalling.

I just thought some people on here would have had this experience already?

Trying to confirm it has been done and a part can be sourced.

new compressor is ~$250 + r/i evac and fill = ~$400?

Pulley r/i = $100?

just trying to talk this our with some buds
