Car wash ate my radio antenna - temporary fix

This issue has been posted here before, but the auto wash has damaged my radio antenna. Cracked the plastic escutcheon and the antenna was flopped over. I should have unscrewed it before going through the car wash but here we are. I ordered the parts to make the repair but i found a way to make a temporary fix i like. I have some plumbing parts and tools in the garage. A 3/4" PEX crimp ring is a close fit to the size of the cracked escutcheon. I slipped the PEX connector over the escutcheon and gave it a squeeze with the PEX crimp tool. No more floppy antenna.

Outlaw likes this.

Shortly after production ended, Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne said of the Commander, "That vehicle was unfit for human consumption. We sold some. But I don't know why people bought them."

That's a nice temporary fix;

Of course removing the antenna in the first place would have saved you some headaches - you definitely screwed the pooch on that one.
