Seat warmers question

Hey guys, any of you experience this...

Sometimes when I turn it on HI (both lights), it'll heat wicked hot. But then other times it'll just get warm. It's done this since driving off the lot. Outside air temp makes no difference.

On 2 lights, mine is always hot and cooler with 1 light. Recently, the system [failed], so I brought it into Chrysler to be fixed on the remaining warranty. I think they said the module was shot. Even though I live in Florida, I use the heated seats often for my bad back. Yep, even though the A/C is on.

I've never experienced my heated seats to get wicked hot. Just a light toasting. But I only use them when it is bitter cold. I am outside of Philly by the way so the teens and 20's are what I would considered bitter. The folks in the great white North can snicker if you wish.

The seat temp is regulated by the outside temp....the computer balances the temp required for your backside based upon the outside temp and the inside temp combined!

From the Owner's Manual:

Heated Seats—If Equipped
Heated seats provide comfort and warmth on cold days
and can help soothe sore muscles and backs. The heaters
provide the same heat level for both cushion and back.
The front driver and passenger seats are heated. The
controls for each heater are located near the bottom
center of the instrument panel. After turning on the
ignition, you can choose from High, Off, or Low heat
settings. Amber LEDs in the top portion of each switch
indicate the level of heat in use. Two LEDs are illuminated
for high, one for low, and none for off. Pressing the
switch once will select high-level heating.
Pressing the switch a second time will select low-level
heating. Pressing the switch a third time will shut the
heating elements off.

When high-temperature heating is selected, the heaters
provide a boosted heat level during the first five minutes
of operation after heating is activated. The heat output
then drops to the normal high-temperature level. If
high-level heating is selected, the system will automatically
switch to the low level after two hours of continuous
operation. At that time, the number of illuminated
LEDs changes from two to one, indicating the change.
Operation on the low setting also turns off automatically
after two hours.

NOTE: Once a heat setting is selected, heat will be felt
within two to five minutes.

Suppose youre right as its a US manual and mine is a XH European Manual.

Ours work on selection of back, base or back and base together...auto temp is based upon inside temp of the car and outside temp combined to provide the correct balance of seat temp!

Its funny, I was just thinking about you jeep5353...but not in the way you'd like so dont go there!
