Aftermarket exhaust drone

Anybody get any horrible drone after installing louder mufflers? If so, which mufflers? Anybody install a helmholtz resonator to combat that drone?

Is the drone people are getting specifically with the hemi? Seems like I saw some guys with the 4.7 complaining of drone as well?

Drone is possible with all engine options. It happens with loud "mufflers" and no resonators.

Dynomax VT is a very cool concept
http://www.dynomax.com/mufflers/dynomax-vt-mufflers

Should be no drone at idle and cruise and plenty beefy @ WOT.

Quote:
DynoMax® VT® mufflers offer a revolutionary, high-flow straight-through stainless steel performance muffler that controls irritating drone, while ensuring maximum performance.

To provide Drone-Free Performance™, DynoMax® Valve Technology mufflers feature an exclusive, precisely calibrated internal valve, that redirects exhaust flow during cruising conditions. Floor the gas, and the valve will automatically adjust for maximum exhaust flow, delivering on-demand performance and a deep, throaty drone-free sound.
