XK Inner Tie Rod End Replacement Q's

2006 2wd XK with 2.25" Lift. Its my wife's whip and I drove it the other day and discovered a terrible clunking in the front end. I climbed underneath while she slightly workedsthe wheel back and forth and determined it to be the inner tie rod ends as the outers seems snug and didn't seem to be making noise. the noise seem to be coming from inside the steering rack. I'm pretty well mechanically inclined I installed the lift myself and do most of the maintenance my question is is the inner tie rod replacement a do-it-yourself job and does anyone have a write up on this? thanks in advance for the help my wife loves her ride and I want to keep it going strong as it also transports my kids!

Yes it's not that hard to do.A couple of giant zip ties to put the boots back on. I can't remember if I used loctite on the inner threads. The other obvious is you will need a alignment when your done.
