Lift with factory rubber: Daystar

Anyone out there used the Daystar kit to do a partial, front only lift? My situation is I'd like to level out my wifes commander, but plan to keep running the factory tires. I think that a full 2" or 2.25" lift w/the factory tires is a bit too much lift for the tire size. I read a writeup on the Daystar kit, and can see that it is very possible to use only one of the front spacers (upper or lower) to get a close to 1" lift to level out the Commander. Anyone done this? Or ran any of the lift options with factory rubber? Pics?!
