SUPERLIFT ordered

It only.took 4+ years and 2 commanders, I finally ordered my superlift.

I will have a full OME hd kit with top mount and all for sale soon, the kit barely has 6k miles on it.

You went through 2 Commanders in 4 years???

I hope for your sake they (Superlift) send you the proper EGR (Electronic Geometry Recalibration) module with your Superlift kit.

When I ordered mine, for some reason the EGR module was sent separately from the rest of the kit and arrived a few days behind everything else - when it finally arrived, it was the wrong one. They had had sent me one for an 06/07 Commander which was not the correct module for my 08, I needed an EGR module for an 08-10 model; they did send the correct one FED-EX overnight when they were informed of their mistake.

It was still quite annoying to deal with none the less.

Thanks for sharing. I ordered the kit form Kloak, will make sure they send the correct EGR.

I had a 06 for 2.5 years and sold it, it was an instant regret. Then I found a really nice 2010 fully loaded one owner with all service records. I paid a premium for it, but it was worth it.

Then I made the same mistake again, I went with an OME lift even though I wanted a SL, a year and a half later I finally ordered the Kit.

I wanted a wrangler, but couldn't justify it since the commander is paid off and only sees 3-4 k miles a year under my ownership. It's about to hit 60k miles soon.

I just wanted proper angles and no rubbing, though I love the way the OME kit handles.

What size tires are you running. I have 265/65/17 on ATX 17x8.5 0 offset.

I want either 17x9 or 18x9 wheels.

Thanks!

NooooOoo. Lol. Plan on taking it to a proper shop. There is Goonies Garage and The Customshop close to me. I will probably go to Custom shop since it's a 5-10 min drive from my house, goonies is about an hour so, getting back home would be a pain.

Word to the wise, make sure the shop fully reads and understands the instructions before diving into it. There is a modification to the front member that is a bit of a pain. I took my to a Jeep service center to have the SL put on. Only the second time in my life I took any vehicle to a shop. The shop quickly gave me a quote, and said it would be done in 3 days. 9 workdays later they call and say they need to talk about the price. I was able to hold them to the quoted price, but what a pain. On the drive home things didn't sound right. Crawled under the commander to find most of the bolts on the rear axle brackets and control arms only finger tight. Needless to say they got an ear full and lost any chance of me going back to them. It has been a great lift since then.

The 2 shops i looked at are reputable, I know goonies for a fact have done SL kits (they only work on Jeeps, nothing else and I mean nothing). I have seen the CustomShops work and it's on point, a bunch of guys who love working on cars. Considering they do fab work, I would trust they can do the SL and I will make sure to direct them on reading the manual.

Thanks!

You need to update your user profile then because it says you own a 2006. Thanks.

Big Blue, do you still have the shocks that came with the SL or aftermarket? I ask as I am still researching replacements. It looks like front can remain the same part # as stock? Seems odd after the lift.

I have the rear shocks that came with the Superlift installed.

The front shocks & springs can remain stock as I understand it - but I have Bilstein B6 4600's up front (Bilstein Part # 24-186797).
