STRUT NUT HELP 🙂

My strut nut has never been to the side before rubbing on the body....we've taken out the assembly and redone it a few times, I know I need an alignment, would an alignment cause this though?? Any help appreciated 🙂

If 4WD - system: QD-II
Current Mileage: 130k

yes, bad alignment could cause that, especially if you loosened any bolts related to alignment or replace the lower control arm. The hole is oval to work with the range of adjustment.

Are you saying that the hole is supposed to be like that? If so, there should be a large heavy duty washer above and below in order to tighten it down. How would you even adjust something like that? It looks like the nut worked loose or wasn't tightened enough causing the bolt to move around and enlarge the hole.

theres a nut in hole that gets tightened down. the hex shaft is for a wrench so you hold the shaft while you tighten the nut. the hole is oval to account for the strut angle in and out depending on the alignment of the lca below.
