2" Rough Country Install Questions

I have a couple of questions about the 2" Rough Country Lift install.

Should I use "Loctite" on the bolts?

Does anyone know the torque specifications for all the nuts and bolts that I'll be tightening?

The instructions for my BDS lift didnt mention anything about using loctite so i dont see why you would need it for that specific lift. However if you are using wheel spacers then you will need loctite. As for the torque specs I have the instructions at home and can give you the specs that BDS gives if no one posts them between now and when I get home tonight.

Yeah I was looking at the instructions last night it mentioned something like "you will need to check the torque after 500 miles and every time you have the truck in the shop". Does anyone here with a spacer lift ever have to re-torque their lifts?

Too be honest I have never even checked mine in the two years the lift has been installed.

I didn't use loc-tite on anything and I re-checked everything once after about 400 miles. Everything was fine. The only thing I will say is that Rough Country doesn't say anything about an alignment, but I recommend you get one. The camber is changed just a little bit so get it aligned so not to wear the tires prematurely.

I looked for the BDS instructions and cant find them. I thought I knew where they were but must have lost them in the move. Sorry I couldnt help you out.

I haven't been able to find torque specs anywhere. I suppose if I bought the shop manual for the XK I could get them but I wasn't planning on that yet.

Hey Gabe, The torque specs should be on the install sheet. If you can't find it go to their site and download a copy of them. The nuts that come with the RC lift are self locking and do not need locktite. Make sure you get all of the powder coating off of the threads or you could damage the nuts. You could use locktite on the rear spacer bolts if you feel the need. Good luck buddy!

BTW you won't need all 3 mopar skids if you buy the 4x Belly guard. It replaces the mid section. You'll want to notch out the gas tank skid so the upper arm will clear on full drop. That is in the instructions. Save the money and get the tow hooks I used. You saw how well they held up on Saturday.

It looks like the 4x Belly guard just takes care of the gap. I count 3 mopar skids. Am I missing something?
