Code P0406 = Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor A Circuit High

so i know this an EGR issue. but let me tell you what happend. i just had my 30K maintenance, all they really did was change the spark plugs. but, when doing that, they ripped the ignition coil, so they replaced that obviously. since then, my MIL came on and off a few times, now it's stuck on. I also seem to be getting about 50 miles less on a full tank of gas. i am wondering if it's possible they damaged the EGR, or if it's possible the spark plugs or ignition coil could cause the EGR to not function properly? i have a 2007 5.7 commander.

i have read the TSB about the update for this, as sometimes it's false, but i notice the car hesitates if i accel slowly, or if i cruise at about 40. not all the time, but when it's warmer outside. if i get on it, i don't notice anything.

thanks.

I had the same code p0406, replaced the egr and everything is fine. I got the part real cheap on ebay, had to get the gasket from the dealer. They will give you two gaskets- one that the location is obvious- sits between the egr and the block and another blue circular gasket which goes into the intake manifold (you will know what I am talking about when you disassemble everything). Search for other threads on this topic "egr" and that should help you or wait until a certain member posts all the possible threads that have any bearing on this since the beginning of time (jeep5253).
