1st Commander Trip to Colorado

Our trip to Breckenridge and Estes Park was scheduled a week before the West Coast Commander trip. You folks out west definitely need to check out the areas around Keystone Mtn. (South of Frisco) and Pierson Road which is RT 119 on the RMNP topo map. 8 miles of awesomeness.

Here a a couple and I will probably post a couple more. This was my first commander, 1st off-road experience and 1st video of it.

Pierson Park Road is a fun trail one of the few my daughter actually requests to go on, good elevation changes, you really feel like your in the woods. usually there is a couple mud holes to splash through. On sat I ran Johnny park road which is right next to Pierson on the same mountain, several rock ledges but not as fun.

Very nice!

I have the same tires so I was wondering how you liked them. They look good too with the white letters out against the blue of your Commander.

Love the tires. I had them on my GC as well. They are quiet, last a long time and are durable w/ great traction.

O.K., I hit a sweet spot!

I need some help from you guys as I am planning a road trip out to CO for 10 days in Sept to hike and 4x4, etc with the Aspens changing. (I go to CO all the time, but this is a first with my XK) I will be heading to the Breckenridge area as well as Nederland, Estes Park, Winter Park and Steamboat Springs.

Does anyone know of any good trails in these areas? Also, do any of you live out that way that you would want to run a couple of the trails with me? I plan to be out there
Sept 16th through the 25th.

Thanks!

Trail damage is good, also check out:
http://www.frontrange4x4.com/forums/...40-Trail-Forum
and
http://www.colorado4x4.org/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=14

These two sites have excellent photos in their trip reports.

I'm up for some wheeling when you come out I live 30 min from Estes There are several trails near Nederland that are moderate or easy with great views.

Just incase you havent yet picked up the Wells book for northern Colorado you might want one. His books have excellent descriptions, maps and several trails that are not listed on trail damage.

Spiral Bound is the way to go
***just remembered something about that date, I'll be camping up in Gould from the 17-20th but I'll be wheelin up there***
