Some awesome offroading today!!

I'll start off with the videos!

First two videos are of my friends WJ... it's lifted a few inches and modded, but unfortunately for him, the reason im posting his videos is to give a perspective of how slippery/difficult these climbs really are!

I don't make it to the top until the last video. In my first two i just dont have enough traction to make it up the last final incline... the frozen ground/ice might have something to do with that though...

Pictures will follow

That looks pretty sweet. More my type of trail rides. The rocky stuff near me is getting old. Bet you wouldn't have had nearly as much spinning with a more agressive tire.

Mods: 2007 Commander 4.7L, QTII, OEM Towing Option, front tow hooks, 2.25" lift, rusty's 1/4" leveling spacer, Bilstein 5150 Rear Shocks, rear swaybars disconnected, 4xguard front skid plate, mopar steel engine skid, Defender Roof Rack, 265/70/R17 BFG KM2 M/Ts 1.5" wheel spacers from rough country ($59.99) , Yaesu FTm350 70 cm, 2meter 220 50 watt mobile radio , 5db gain mag mount antenna, Hella 500FF lights.

The ground was so frozen, i don't think the tires would have helped much. There wasn't anything to "grab" into... basically a sheet of ice.

If this was summer time with some looser soil I think i wouldve made it up that climb on my first attempt.

.... You couldn't even walk on it without slipping down. Watch that 4th video I posted carefully; check out how fast i start sliding backwards.

Nice place. Thanks for the pics and vids. You can tell when you are still sliding backwards and your tires are not spinning, it is steep and slippery.

Did one of you have a snatch strap or winch?

2007 XK Limited, 5.7L Hemi, QDII, Rusty's 2" lift, Spidertrax 1.5 inch wheel spacers, GetLost4x4's front hitch mount for portable winch.GY Duratracs 265/70R17s , Rola Roof Rack, diy built spare tire mount for the roof rack.

We definitely had recovery straps. Neither of us are new to offloading.

No winch yet. You'll notice he doesn't have a front bumper... he's in the process of welding together a custom bumper with winch mount. I plan on running a 4xguard with 2" receiver for a winch.

Nothing we did today would have required a winch. We know that park very well and stayed away from the areas that "sink" trucks. It was basically an "on the whim" playing in the snow.
