I dont know if it is possible to do this engine swap. But I know with a Jeep anything is possible. I want more power.

Compared to doing and engine swap you may want to try to get the most out of the V6. Air intake, exhaust, chip. If you go to a speedshop or an offroad shop they will be able to tell you the most effective ways to gain power.
Intake - http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...x?Prod=63-1545
There are many exhaust options it depends on how loud you want it to be and how much you want to spend.
Chip - http://www.jetchip.com/Shop/shopdisp...ppp=10&catID=1

Bright Silver 4.7L 2.25 RR/OME lift, Kumho KL71 265/70/17, Flashpaq, Lights, rack, intake, Super44, mopar skids, 4x belly guard, rear fog lights, MM9500 winch, GetLost4x4 winch mount

It is possible, but why not get a V8 to begin?

Trade in your v6 and go get either a new or used v8 model. The cost difference may somewhat fair the same, vs the time/fustration you'll spend on doing the swap.

Look for a XK being sold with a salvage title or as a parts vehicle. You can pick one up for the cost of a crate motor and part out what you don't need. Other than trading in for a new commander that is the only thing I could say would be worth the time or money.

i think all you need are the motor, tranny, t-case and electronics. i think most of it would be plug and play.

My local yard had a 5.7 engine only for $1800 and a complete 5.7 with trans and all electronics but they wanted $7000. Once you get to the electronics, you can send the powertrain control module away to have the VIN # changed to match yours.

My suggestion for what it's worth...take out your 3.07 axle gear and put in the 3:73. That ought to give you the best bang for the buck. Replacing an engine is too freakin' expensive.
