2008 Commander valve spring

I have 2008 Commander.Purchased use with 28,000 miles on it. Check engine light comes on and I shut it down. Next thing I know, I'm in the market for a new motor. According to the dealer, I have a broken valve spring which caused the valve to trash the motor....after 51,000 miles. This is also after the technicians way of diagnosing the problem was add oil and start the engine!
Contacted Jeep directly and their best answer was "Should have bought the extended warranty.
See why a 7.5 billion dollar bailout was need! Wouldn't recommend another Jeep to an enemy.
