"New" Commander Owner

We just purchased a 2008 Commander Overland. It needs some love, but the price was right. Hopefully I can learn some things here about what to do to maintain this Jeep and upgrade it as well as help anyone I can. From what I can tell a lot of the parts (at least mechanical) cross over between this Commander and the Grand. Our last Jeep was an 04 WJ 4.0 that I miss a LOT. I even have a 12cw 258 crank that I was saving to stroke it. I would have loved to be able to get a newer SUV with 2 solid axles, a traditional transfer case, body on frame, etc. Those options are pretty limited now. (I have several International Scouts and wouldn't trade them for anything at a dealer today.) Anyway, just wanted to say hello; and I'm looking forward to joining a new group of enthusiasts.

that is correct, the GC and commander share similarities between engine and suspension among other things. I've ordered many things for the grand cherokee that fit right up to to my commander with no issue.
