Replacement for the wife's Patriot.

Just picked up this '06 to replace the wife's dying Patriot. The stupid CVT constantly overheats and puts it in limp mode while driving down the highway. It'll go around town no problem but if you try to go more than an hour at highway speed the trans temp light comes on and takes away the throttle (I hate drive by wire)

Even put in a huge fin and plate cooler and it didn't help.

Glad to have something that has a standard transmission.

Charles,

Welcome to the forum;

Nice looking XK - are you getting any DTC's other than the transmission overtemp?

Sorry I wasn't very clear on that, its the CVT in the Patriot that overheats, not the transmission in the Commander.

Here's my thread over on the patriot forum if you want to read more about it:

I've been told both the Bull Bar and the Taillight Guards are Mopar parts that are no longer available and sought after. When I posted it on a Commander FB group I had people PM'ing me to ask if I would sell them off it!
