So after @Creek
and I had a conversation back on August 22nd 2017, I pitched the idea to the administrators to have a mandatory questionnaire added to the registration process for all new members, so I don't have to keep asking the same redundant questions over and over again about their Commanders; Trim package, power-train; 2WD or 4WD; What 4WD system do you have, etc.
The administrators signed off on it and it is now in place;
Click on your username and select the "View Public Profile"
tab and click on "About Me"
and you will see the questions that need to be answered to update your user profile information. If you don't own a Commander just answer "No" to the "Own a Commander?" question and you don't need to answer any more of the Commander specific questions.
If you do own a Commander, obviously, you'll answer "Yes" and then answer the rest of the questions.
I was the guinea pig, so if you look under my avatar you will see the following information displayed;
Own a Commander?:
2WD or 4WD:
If 4WD - system:
****New Members - THESE PROFILE QUESTIONS ARE MANDATORY AND MUST BE COMPLETED TO KEEP YOUR MEMBERSHIP IN GOOD STANDING****
THEY SHOULD BE COMPLETED BEFORE YOU MAKE YOUR FIRST POST ON THE FORUM, so that your Commander's information is properly displayed underneath your username and avatar.
It takes all of 2 minutes to answer these profile questions;
If you force me (or any other forum moderator) to make multiple requests to get you to answer these questions
- you will be subject to progressive discipline - up to and including, potentially, being permanently banned from the forum.
These questions have been put in place for a reason and after you have been on the forum for a while, you'll understand why.
I think it's a great improvement to the forum and most members I have talked to about it agree;
So now, when new members make their initial post with a problem they're having, we will have all of their Commander's basic information readily available, without forum members having to ask for it.
My sincere thanks to the Administrators (Natalie, Kyle, Kevin, Lee & Richard) and the Techs
who worked patiently with me over the last month to put this in place.
