Cause of P0340 Code

Hello,

I have a 2007 Commander Limited with the 4.7L engine.
I intermittently get the P0340 code. Camshaft Position Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1. Engine jumps on hard acceleration.
Ive changed out the sensor before with a sensor from Autozone (maybe my 1st mistake) and it ran great for about a month.
Not the fault is back again. The check engine light will be on for a couple of days then it will go off or a day or two then it will come back on.
My question is, could there be another issue that causes the P0340 fault or do I just need to buy a OEM camshaft position sensor from the dealer?

it might be worth trying an oem part. I am not sure what would cause one to go bad in a month.

I have tried using aftermarket sensors in the past with very poor results. I only use OEM sensors now. You do not need to buy oem sensors from a dealer. There are many parts sources online that you can purchase Mopar parts from at a significant discount. Rock Auto sells OEM parts online as well.
