New (old) Commander owner!

Hi there!
I just purchased a very, very nice 2006 XK 5.7 Hemi here in Spain. I found this very well taken care of Commander with just 51,000 miles on the clock and I had to take it, plus the price was excellent.

I'm still reading about things I can do with it, and suspension mods will be the first thing, then replacing the REC unit with something more up to the times and easier to update.

Thanks!

So, things I've done already:

1.- I cut/widened both floor gromets for the water drain. Haven't had the problem yet and hopefully now I'll never have it.
2.- Fixed the non-adjustable pedals situation. My pedals are different than those I've seen in pictures, but the system is basically the same, so I unplugged the wire going to the gas pedal and cycled the brake one a couple of times until it did the full movement range.

Next stop, remove the third row and make a flat surface with a hidden cargo area.

Nice find Zapa! I'm also a new Commander owner. Like you one of the first things I'd like to do is replace the REC stereo with something better. I've got a plan and I'll post some pics in the next few days.

All the best with your new machine!

Money wise the plan will start with the removal of the third row, which should be the cheapest, then 5100 shocks/struts, then infotainment (Seicane 9"?).
Further along the road will come the lift with OME HD springs and tyres.

Well, it seems I can't follow my own plans, but that's alright

I ordered the Bilstein 5100s AND the OME HD springs, so that should be done somewhen next week. I have some days off so I'll start the third row removal this week, then take measurements (twice or more) and design something suitable.

REC and tyres will have to wait

Welcome to the forum! That's a clean XK. You're going to like the improvement in the ride with the Bilstein 5100s. I've only installed the front so far and already like it much better. The instructions indicate 1.2" lift on the first groove and the result was spot on.
