Thumbs up Hello from Bergen County New Jersey

I recently purchased a 2007 Jeep Commander Limited with Hemi. On my way home after purchasing the vehicle, I decided I needed more gas so I stopped by the closest station to fill her up. A few minutes later my check engine light lit up and I panicked. I tried calling the seller, but he could not be reached. My phone's battery also died, so I decided to drive home slowly and went straight to a Jeep dealership. Basically the mechanic told me something that I should have known from past experience, my gas cap was loose because my mind was someplace else wondering about what lift I was going to buy, mud tires or all terrain and if I needed wheel spacers..hence the check engine light. I learned two things today, we are too dependent on our phones and technology, it was my first time in a long time to not use a GPS to get home (100 miles), turns out there are signs everywhere for us humans to see and follow. Lastly, living in a state that requires full service gas stations has it perks for day dreamers like me. Thanks for all the info shared!

If anyone can recommend a shop that can do budget friendly suspension lifts in the New Jersey area, please do share. Thanks in advance.

If you don't mind, how much do you think they will charge for a basic 2 inch suspension lift? Thanks.

That’s a funny story, I have done something similar in the past. Our grandfathers would have either figured it out or had an old school map in the glove box. Tech is a blessing and a curse. I’m just really happy for you that it wasn’t something serious with your new ride. That would have been super crappy!

To make matters worse, I panicked because I didn't have gps. The damn thing has onboard navigation, old school as it may be, but it has navigation. Oh and on my way home, it started raining and the rubber side of the wipers were split in half, basically smiley faces on the windshield and did nothing but annoy me. I had a checklist to make sure I didn't forget to check anything. Of course I threw it away coz I didn't think I needed it. Thanks all.
