Hey guys I'm a new jeep owner, just bought a 2006 limited jeep v8. Still new to the upgrading scene but would love input on new mods. I also have been debating on what brand shock and struts I should get. Is bilstein brand better than Monroe? Or better brands? Thanks

Bilsteins are much higher quality shocks than Monroe. Bilstein makes two different lines for the XK, the 4600 line and the 5100 line. 4600s are great if you plan to leave your Jeep stock, but if you plan on lifting it you'll want 5100s in the rear for the extra travel. 5100s up front are also adjustable and can offer 0.75" of lift (levelling the Jeep) to 2" of lift.

2006 XK Limited, Hemi, QDII
245/70R17 General Grabber AT2s
Ported/Polished Throttle Body
Flowmaster Super 44
Stock Height Again (For Now)

Ive been running into this alot when looking for commander parts. It keeps directing me to wrangler or Cherokee parts. Help please.

They are indeed the same. Almost everything for the Grand Cherokee WK will fit our XKs. However, the 5100s are supposedly ONLY for the Grands and marketed as such. But, they have the same suspension system, so throw them on!

Stay heady my friends.

The tires you want will dictate how much clearance you need, not specifically the wheels themselves.

I'm looking forward to hearing how you like the Bilsteins!

If he's getting a 20 inch rim - if he goes with even a slightly larger tire size, I guarantee you he will need a lift.

How much of a lift is what will be determined by how large a tire he goes with.

Welcome to the forum! Yea, I would guess you are pretty much going to need a lift for 20" wheels with mud tires.
