Greetings fellow Commander lovers...

After lurking in the shadows for a couple of weeks looking for information on my newly acquired Commander, I finally decided it was time to sign up and say hello...

I just got a 2006 Limited with the 5.7 Hemi!! Its got 111,000 miles. Everything is pretty much bone stock with the exception of a K&N drop-in filter I just added. Looks to have all of the added options of the Overland (Navi, DVD Entertainment, wood grain dash inserts) except for the 2 tone suede seat inserts, engine block heater and color matched cosmetics on the exterior. This is my 2nd Jeep, I owned and loved a 1997 TJ 4.0, which I had until my oldest child was born and I needed back seats.12 years and 2 additional kids later I now have a Jeep again with plenty of room for the whole family, and I couldn't be happier.

On a side note, The XK I just obtained has actually been in my extended family since it was purchased new. With all of the maintenance done at the dealership the truck was originally purchased at. My father purchased this Commander brand new 6 months before he passed away, and it's been my mother's daily driver ever since. They both drove Jeep Grand Cherokee Limiteds and decided to trade up to the Commander when my father found out he was sick and they needed just one vehicle moving forward. After 12 years she decided that it was too much vehicle for her at this stage in her life and wanted something with better gas mileage. I couldn't see her trading it in to the dealership so we made a deal, and now my XK Journey begins....
I want to thank everyone in advance for posting all the great information on here, it's already helped me out a great deal deciding on what I want to do next with this amazing truck!

Nice Jeep and a great history... Keep it as long as possible, a car that you father bought has its special value... I wish I kept the first car I got after my father... It was an old Fiat 850... And I know for sure my father regrets he didn't keep a car he had after his father: a 1934 Mercedes Benz 290 Cabrio...
