New Commander Owner, any tips and "need to knows"?

Hello everybody,

I've got a 2007 Jeep Commander 4.7l V8 4x4 QT-II. 163,000 miles.

Just thought I'd post and say hi and see if anyone has any snippets of wisdom they'd like to share to a new owner.

Thanks for reading!

I would "zero" it out unless you know the service history. All fluids, plugs, air filter, shocks, coils, etc. Sway bar bushings, end links, front diff bushings, are known to go south and need replacement at some time. Better to develop a plan if you go this way so as not to try to eat the elephant in one bite.

Hey, welcome! One thing that doesn’t cost you anything except for time and some brushing implements but that could save you in the long run, especially after that many miles, is de-rusting and protecting the underside with a rustoleom or something.

5.7 V8 Hemi!!!

Fluid Film, Boeshield, & Krown all work for the rust slow down process. Many videos exist for Krown & Fluid Film.

Thanks, had the front diff bushings replaced about two weeks ago. Snagged them from rock auto and saved some money.
All is well now, no clunking anymore!
