Cool Howdy from Texas!

Howdy, Commanderers!

In light of the fact that I live on the Texas Gulf Coast, and that we are sometimes subject to hurricanes, I'd begun a search for a Jeep about 2 1/2 years ago. Unfortunately, we didn't settle on/buy one before Hurricane Harvey, and Harvey hit us pretty hard. Like, REALLY hard. Like, the house ain't finished yet because we got screwed over by the contractor and still need our kitchen hard. Anyway, a couple of weeks after Harvey, we finally DID settle on one: a 2008 Jeep Commander Overland 4x4, and I have to say, I have been MIGHTY happy with this vehicle. People who have reviewed the Commander always seem to rip on it because they don't dig on the boxy style, but considering that almost everything consumer-based on the road looks like eggs now, I like that it has distinction. Attitude. Flair.

A COMMAND presence.

When we got ours, an old friend of mine from high school immediately sent me an invite to join local Jeep groups, which I did happily, and have now embarked on what I consider to be mere beginnings of my Jeep Commander adventure.

And I'm glad I'm here. Safe travels, everyone, and God Bless.

Thanks, Big Blue! And thank you for all the helpful information! Unfortunately, I'd blown the heads a couple of months ago, so I had to get a new engine put in, but once she's back on the road, I'm looking forward to 2019, and catching up on the latest local adventures and see where it takes us! Thanks again for the warm welcome!
