Clunk when switching gears

Hi guys, fairly new member here. I've owned Jeeps before but this is my first Commander and I love it, only Jeep you can haul 4 grandbabies in- 2 still in carseats. LOL
2006 Limited, 5.7 Hemi 4wd QDII. Lifted when I got it so I know nothing about the lift kit. I am hearing a clunking noise when shifting gears. Sometimes harder than others and sometimes not at all and at times a hard down shift while driving. Also, a clicking or rubbing sound when making hard turns. I was told the CV boot has a crack in it, the clunk was from the mounts and the rubbing was the tires rubbing something from the lift when they added wider tires...I have an extended warranty so I am trying not to worry too much but I cringe Everytime it happens.... Im not too sure I'm not getting a load of BS so I wanted to get some other opinions from experienced owners. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks in Advance..

@cbearden69 ;

I see his is your first post on the forum, so, welcome;

If you used the advance search feature, under the tools menu, you'd find 50 different threads on this very same subject; Most likely your upper front differential bushing needs to be replaced - a well documented point of failure on Grand Cherokees & Commanders alike due to poor torque distribution engineering by Chrysler/Jeep. Here are a few other threads on the same subject you can read for yourself;

https://www.jeepcommander.com/forums...unk-bumps.html

https://www.jeepcommander.com/forums...ing-sound.html

https://www.jeepcommander.com/forums...ath-video.html

https://www.jeepcommander.com/forums...loppiness.html

https://www.jeepcommander.com/forums...clunk-pop.html

I don't mind pointing you in the right direction since you're new here, but in the future, don't be afraid to use the advance search feature, under the tools menu, when you have a problem you're trying to diagnose.
