2007 limited

My wife and I just moved to Angel Fire, NM from north Texas, now have snow in our lives! Picked the Jeep Commander Limited for 4wd, heated seats, and room to haul groceries from 30 to 70 miles away (depending on if we shop in Taos or Santa Fe). So far this may be our favorite car we have owned!

Canadian Commander

My 2007 Commander originated in Canada (Alberta)
Does anyone know what the build item “Build To Canada Mkt. Specifications” might tell me?
Thanks in advance!

I'll be in your neck of the woods in a couple of days. We will be spending time in Red River. (Brisket for every meal there) Just 20 miles north of you. After we leave Colorado. Snow is great this year.
We are driving in our Ram.

There are some minor differences in the Canadian automotive laws that require slight modifications to a vehicle. This becomes especially evident if you ever try to import a vehicle into Canada from the US. Transponder keys for example were required on all vehicles in Canada since 2007? I believe. But I don't think they became standard in the US until a year or two later. Daytime running lights were required equipment in Canada since '92 ish, but not standard in the US until the early 2000s.

Just guessing, but probably things like speedometer showing kilometers as primary, the decals in the door pillar are probably a little different for the Canadian vehicles. Perhaps a block heater as standard in Alberta, and any other small peculiarities to make the vehicle compliant with Canadian laws.

Thanks, all that makes sense. It’s weird that the speedometer is mph as primary but the AC/heat controls are Celsius.

Temperature sending unit

My temp gage is sometimes at zero so I’m thinking I need to replace sending unit. Can’t find it, can anyone tell me the location?

See this post https://www.jeepcommander.com/forums...locations.html Look on Page 3606 (PDF) of the first file. Or - 8W-91-37 of manual page numbers. Looks like it is right by the throttle body to the drivers side.
