Hello From London

Hello there

I just bought a 2007 Jeep Commander 3.0 CRD limited (Diesel) about 6 weeks back after owning a 2004 Grand Cherokee 4.7 for just under a year. I really enjoy driving the Commander and it seems worlds apart from the GC , and I have even got used to the floaty ride !
Everything generally works ok , but I have a noisy drone from the front end which I just had diagnosed as front differential by Jeep specialist and they are refurbishing it this week. ( I hope that does the trick )

I was looking to look to get an ECU re-map done to up the power ( Celtic tuning ) . Has anybody done the same on their CRD and advise if this created any issues down the line ? Celtic tuning claim that the re-map an increase 215 to 290 BHP and 376 to 463 Lb ft Torque , so quite a hike.

Any advice would be useful.

Thanks

Jay

@Jay90;

Welcome to the forum; There are quite a few other members from the UK on this forum and a couple who have joined recently, so, hopefully they will find there way to this thread and introduce themselves; It's hard for me to remember them all but here are a few;

@Dr Ofsereb; @Iocopocomaioco; @Commander84; @Mark Redford ; @turkish1987; @lafwud; @CP07 & @PhilCommanderPayne to name a few; There are actually a lot more UK members than this, but these are a few that I know of, that have at least been somewhat active on the forum recently;

I'm not familiar with the ECU remap for the 3.0L Diesels and to be honest, this is the first time I've heard about it.

There is also a UK Commanders social group you can find here;

https://www.jeepcommander.com/forums...ommanders.html

Maybe someone can step up and take charge of it and make it a little more active; The guy who originally started it doesn't appear to post here any longer.

Thanks Big Blue ...

Yes, I re-mapped my Diesel Jaguar XJ 2.7 TDVi a few years back and it was an amazing transformation.

I will drop the same question into the main discussion forum to see if there are any Commander owners who have done like wise.

Thanks also for listing some of the other UK Commander owners. That is really useful to know .

Hi all
I had mine remapped last year, not by celtic (no reason for that, local garage did mine) not had it dyno tested so dont know if the BHP has gone up. i have achieved powered flight in it though, which for a two ton lump with zero aerodynamics indicates a fair degree of power.

Mpg has gone up slightly, did a motorway run yesterday and got 35.9 at steady 60 mph (didnt actually enjoy it, but in the name of research.... ) almost suggests cornwall is doable on one tank (each way)

just had the turbo oil seals replaced (last week) but im now strugling to find an elephant hose.

I also did the annual roof drain repair to stop the footwells flooding. for any new owners thats one to watch out for.
