Black 2006 Limited 5.7 4x4 New Owner

Hello All, I purchased my Commander back in Apirl. I had a YJ for a while, so I'm not new to Jeep issues. I had the pesky Temp Overheat issue and mine turned out to be the transmission.
Now that the repair is done, I am looking into lifts. I saw a lot of Posts about the Rocky Road Outfiters 2.25" but I saw another one on Amazon. The Freedom OffRoad 3.0” Lift Leveling Kit. Does anyone have experience with this kit of manufacturer?

Jeeps are money pits but they are our money pits.

Post some pics of your Commander when you can; I've never heard of the Freedom Off Road 3.0” Lift Leveling Kit, so, I can't give you any advice one way or the other on that particular item. However, the rule of thumb is, you get what you pay for - more often than not.

Congrats on the purchase !
Post a link to the amazon product. I dont think you can go too wrong with any kit built on a typical steel spacer design. They arent very complex, but I agree with Blue, in that the $$ to quality ratio.
You just might end up seeing a novice with a 110v welder and a band saw. Not saying thats a bad thing, we all started at the bottom working our way up. Just have some risk taking vs savings to contemplate.

Cool Vehicle Specs

Hello All, I downloaded the vehicle specs from https://fcacommunity.force.com/RAM/s/equipment-listing and saw under Standard Equipment had Quadra-Trac II Full-Time, Active 4WD and Optional Equipment has Quadra-Drive (R) 4WD System. Not sure which 4WD system I have or if they are the same. Can anyone explain this by chance?

All vehicles equipped with QDII also read QTII on the spec sheet. I've heard that this refers to the QTII transfer case we have, and the QDII differentials that were added on. You likely have the QDII system, but you can check for sure by counting the number of bolts on the rear differential. QTII models have 10 bolts, QDII have 12.

@Recon392 , you have the Quadra-Drive II systerm. The QDII system uses the Quadra-Trac II transfer case.

This is something that FCA has done, that I've long had issues with - because it IS confusing, particularly to those new to Jeeps & XK's in general.

Yes, the QT-II and QD-II 4WD systems both use the same transfer case - the NV245 2 speed transfer case. For the record, QT-I uses the NV140 single speed transfer case, meaning you don't have the ability to drop down into 4-LOW.

If FCA would have pulled their heads out of their arses & listed your transfer case properly - by what in my mind is the correct terminology, it would be listed as the NV245 transfer case which is far less confusing than calling it QT-II or QT-II transfer case.

Why they insisted on referring to it as QT-II (the same name as one of the three 4WD systems they offered) instead of simply calling it the NV245 transfer case, I'll never know.
