Hello , Glad to find this forum. We have gone from Liberty's to a new to us 08' commander sport. It has a couple things we need to sort out, but it will be a college vehicle for my son. It seems to be a nice upgrade from his Liberty. Hopefully we don't ask too many questions!
The commander we bought is supposed to be a motor swap.It was originally a 3.7 with an EGR and a connector still in the harness, but the engine in it now is supposed to be out of a 06"liberty with no EGR provisions. It runs down the highway fine but sometimes idle is a bit off. A local shop said we need to put an egr on to get the CEL to go out. I am a bit confused because the back of the intake is different than both 06" liberty's that we have. The one in the commander has the egr Tube cut and welded closed. It just plugs the hole in the back of the plenum.
Also the pcv port on the drivers side back of the engine had no hoses on it. The same style port on the back of the passenger side is capped. Any ideas on where a can find photos of what should be correct ?
Thank you for the links. I am sure some of them will be useful after we get it on the road. Got a few more things cleaned up and the proper coolant in last night. Still trying to find a good photo of the engine bay area so we can get emission hoses ran correctly. Specifically the back of the intake plenum area
Thank you
I am finding a lot of part numbers and diagrams for 4.7 stuff. Any ideas on where to find 3.7 ? I believe there is a hose from the back driver side pcv valve that goes to the back of the plenum and one that goes from the air filter housing to the passenger side of the the back of the engine. I have a photo of our stuff but apparently I can not post it yet.
Thank you
