Hello!

I just acquired a Jeep Commander 3.7. It has dropped a valve seat. I am here to learn about these cool machines.

When it allows me to post in the general thread, I was going to ask the group's opinion about whether I should just change the heads or replace the motor entirely.

Most likely looking at a long block. Have you looked inside the cylinders to see if pieces of the valve seat have been trashing the piston and cylinder wall? Pull the heads and have a closer look. Just suggestions, but looking at the costs you may be better with a reman long block.

I think I am most likely looking at a long block. The motor is locked up.
