Welcome I also love them and work on them myself and this forum has helped me. Also I think the commander is underrated by the 4 x 4 world but it has worked for me and my adventures.

Great 4x4 system with low range to boot

From what I read, only the Rubicon had a better system in 2006. Being a boxy looking "mommymobile", folks wanted cherokees when I bought my 06 in 2009. They weren't common, and dealers wanted them off their used car lots. I think MSRP was around 45k new, and 3 years later, I got mine with 46 thousand onroad miles for 14 thousand.
About a year ago, I went on a run with a Chev Colorado, and a new Nissan frontier (both offroad 4x4 packages on them) This was on the Cleghorn trail in so cal.
Both owners could not believe it when I got it on 3 wheels and kept going.
Wombler likes this.

I've heard that term before on this forum & I never really understood that analogy;

To me, even a stock Commander, is very reminiscent of a Land Rover, more so than anything else I've ever seen on the road.

Could never really grasp the whole mommy-mobile thing. I always thought that was reserved for mini-vans......
