Got my 07 Commander 3.7 in 2016 at 77k, now at 135k.

This thing is awesome. I don't want to to get rid of it. They're so unique from the super common rinse and repeat "crossovers" in parking lots.

It's the quadratrac 1, and most base options, and didn't even have floor mats, so I ordered those asap.

Then got some chrome roof/trunk rails from the junkyard for $30.
Then some take-offs from a Wrangler, and then everything else just went along with that.
I tried taking some rear view mirrors with the buttons to wire up my own switch so I would have the most stock looking interior with stock buttons wired to off road lights(IE home link switch), I wasn't successful at remounting the rear view back to the plastic bracket so I decided not to go with it.

The Great:
Super reliable, never broke down on me, very minimal maintenance to include:
-Alternator
-Battery
-Oil Changes every 5k(With oil filter & new drain plug gasket)
-Air filter every 15k
-Topping off oil
-Topping off coolant reservoir with distilled water(Never freezes in FL)
-Brakes/Rotors*
-Shocks/Struts*
*Was only changed as why not I'm already installing a RC 2" lift, might as well take care of it while I'm in there.
-Once lifted I can change the oil without having to jack it up.

**Technically doesn't fit, I had to seat it lower than the stock bracket for the stock speaker cover to fit over.

The eh;
-After lifting my Jeep although oil changes are a breeze, oil is dropping onto the oil pan guard and I get worried sometimes because when I drive it flicks it onto the exhaust pipe right behind it.
-The CV axle boots are leaking grease everywhere and I'm just gonna go back in and replace the front CV axles and wheel bearings since it's becoming an issue, and maybe hit it with a power wash after to get the caked grease off(Also starting to feel occasional vibrations, as in the whole Jeep is vibrating loudly as speed increases)
-Just ordered those parts from Rockauto.

If anyone has any insight I'd love some feedback on these 2 things:
-The above "The Great" Section I mentioned how low maintenance it has been, that's the only maintenance I've done to it, and I was wondering if there's anything I'm missing that I can take care of now/soon should be taking care of? I just really appreciate this vehicle and want it to last at last for many more years.
-Some threads on here raved about NAPA having Poly sway bar bushings, I took a look and didn't find them? Have any suggested bushings, or if it's better to get a new control arms with better bushings? Not too sure.

By the way, if you're ever locked out of your commander, go buy 2 shoe laces from the dollar store and tie both ends together to make a small O to use to slip into the top right side of the door jam behind the rubber door seal. I can't tell you how many times this trick saved me from having to call a locksmith. This video explains it better

On the flip side if you want to prevent someone from breaking into your Jeep this way you could shave the shroom part of the door lock.

Also if you're suffering from an uncontrollable squeak/squealing sound emitting from your dash I dealt with that for 2 years before locating the issues. I had to remove the glove box, and there was a silver box module that was scraping against a metal bracket because it wasn't seated properly, after seating it properly it will no longer scrape and your vehicle will be free of that awful sound.

Good looking XK @Liam Davis;

As far as maintenance goes, here are a some things you've missed and are probably due - or past due for;

1) Transmission fluid/filter change;
2) Front & rear differential gear oil change;
3) Transfer case fluid change;
4) Spark plug change
5) Fuel system service/flush
6) Radiator flush & coolant change

Additionally, there should be a maintenance schedule in your owner's manual that tells you specifically at what mileage, exactly what maintenance should be done; If you don't have an owner's manual you can download a .PDF owner's manual by following the directions below (copied from the very first post in the New Member Required Reading Sticky Thread);

Additionally if you bought a Commander, and it didn't come with an owner's manual, you can download a .PDF owner's manual to save and/or print, from the website link below; Just click on "Jeep" then select the "Year" and "Model" of your Commander and click on "Select Vehicle"

Next, click on the "Owner's Manual" tab under "QUICK LINKS" then click on the "DOWNLOAD THE MANUAL (PDF)" button.

Thanks for the owners manual, I checked it out and see their intervals, good stuff!

@1 I thought my 3.7’s tranny was a sealed Daimler tranny and you can’t change the fluid/filter?
@2 I hear it smells like rotten eggs;

For no mess oil changes get a Fumoto Oil valve, I've been using mine for years and love it. Get one with the nipple to put on a short length of plastic tubing. http://fumotousa.com/
