With my 2007 Rocky Mountain Edition Sport Commander, I know that I have some cool add-on stuff. (my English is bad, I know..!) Boston acoustic sound system, embrodied Jeep logos and more. I have a 4.7L engine. But someone said to me that I have a special «off-road protection plates down under». Ehhh. I don't see something special under my Jeep. OK, I'm a newbie. I don't know a lot about mechanics.

Could you tell me about my precise model ?

Thank You !

A french jeep Commander Lover.

How's it going Simon?

Welcome to the forum.

There are probably some Commander Rocky Mountain Edition owners here that might be able to answer in a little more detail than me.

The Boston Acoustics sound system is a standard feature on all Commanders.

I can tell you I used to own a 2008 Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4 Rocky Mountain Edition and it had the following additional features that the baseline Grand Cherokee didn't have;

The Boston Acoustics sound system came with a 4 or 5 CD changer instead of just the single disc changer;

Rocky Mountain Edition Badging on each side;

Polished aluminum rims;

Stainless Steel Door Guards that said Grand Cherokee on them (Yours door guards would obviously say COMMANDER on them if you have them).

Front and rear tow hooks.

These are the only extras my Rocky Mountain Edition Grand Cherokee had that I can remember.

The person you spoke with must have thought your Commander came with the heavier steel factory front/radiator skid plate, along with the steel oil pan & gas tank skid plates - my Rocky Mountain Edition Grand Cherokee did not, it came with the standard factory plastic Gas Tank & Oil pan skid plates (they are just extra pieces of heavy gauge plastic that are mounted over the oil pan and gas tank in case you were to bottom out - they would help prevent the oil pan or gas tank from getting punctured.

Hope this answers your question.

I'm fairly certain my commander does not have boston acoustics sound system, but I have about the lowest of the low commanders, the only thing not at the bottom for me was the 4.7 (where it really counted). It's not even 4WD. the boston acoustics addon had the "boston acoustics" logo on the speakers right?

I actually still have the speaker out from when I had to manually roll up my window, I'll take a look when I get home, but I know for a fact there wasn't a Boson Acoustics logo on the front of the speaker or the door panel portion that protects the speaker.

Welcome to the gang!

It may begin as a RM version but at the end of the day it will be your version... Well after about a bajillion spent on all the extra toys you will purchase!
