Anyone know if an 08 or later 4.7 would swap in 07 commander with a 4.7? I have 155,000 on my 4.7, a fresher engine with extra 70,hp. and better economy would be interesting, without all the hassell of a Hemi swap.

Blue, I see you have an 08 with the new 4.7, is it pretty peppy? My research shows the new one puts out 305 HP ,verses 235 for the 07, and redesign also improved efficiency Mine feels adaquit, but averages 14-15 MPG ,19 on the highway. Art

@AJfixit; Yep, in 2008 they redesigned the intake and added an extra spark plug per cylinder which accounts for the increased HP & Torque in the 2008's.

More than enough power for me; I added a aFe cat-back exhaust & an aFe cold air intake, along with the superchips flashpaq 93 octane performance tune; She runs well; I have no complaints at all about the engine.

@AJfixit - Did you end up going with the newer 4.7 and if so, was it a fairly straightforward swap? Unfortunately, I might be looking at a similar scenario. I noticed I was running hot the other day. Filled up the radiator. The second time it happened (a couple days later) I realized the coolant is being pushed up into the overflow. I'm thinking a head gasket leak is pushing CO2 into the coolant system. I haven't done any tests yet, just weighing my options at this point.
