We left got on the road at 5 am on the 26th and were in a lot of rain through Kansas.

We arrived at our destination about 13.5 hours later tired and hungry.

The next morning we were finally able to see our surroundings. I almost did not want to come back.

The XK was fantastic with four adults and one child and about 300 pounds of luggage. We averaged about 19 MPG at 75 mph along the way.

Although I did not get a chance to take the Commander off road, we did ride our friends atv's all over the 750 acres of mountainous terrain they own.

My friend Chris and I climed on foot to about 9000 feet and saw some deer along the way.

I can't wait to go back.

My buddy Chris at about 9000 feet.

My daughter and I on one of the atv's.

Nice Muley. I would have shot him. Tasty Tasty Tasty

How did you have the Commander configured?

2 adults in fron and 2 adult and child in back?? Or did you have the child on one of the rear seats?? If so, were you able to fit the luggage in the small area folded down or was it strapped to the roof??
