I just ordered the Rocky Road 2.25 lift. They said their adjustable rear track bar does not come with the kit. (It's offered stand alone for $99)

Do those of you with this lift (and no track bar adjustment) have a rear axle shifted over to the right?

I put a 2.5 spacer lift on my 07 Wrangler Unlimited and had to buy a track bar bracket in order to center the axle.

This is based on my experience with lifting my JK Wrangler.

Think of the axle as being hinged by the drive shaft. When you insert a spacer or larger springs the axle pushes down and slightly forward. The axle kept centered by the track bar. The track bar usually mounts to the driver's side of the axle, runs parallel to the axle and connects to the passenger side frame. So... when you install a lift without adusting the length (or adding a drop bracket) to the track bar, the axle will shift to the passenger side. If the track bar is lengthened, the axle will remain centered.

The guys at Rocky Road said they include the adjustable rear track bar with their GC 2.25 lifts, but not the Commander. They could not explain why. I'm assuming the rear suspension is set up the same.

I hope somebody with this lift can confirm if their axle had shifted. If so, I need to order the adjustable track bar.

Sounds good. I was assuming there would have been posts about this if it were needed. Can't wait for my lift!!! Of course I ordered it just before a holiday.

My dealership (client of mine) is going to do the install + allignment for $300.

I'm keeping the stock chrome/clad rims + 1.5 spidertrax spacers + 245/70/17 BFG MT KM'2. (I love that their new MT's have siping)

I got to thinking about this and so I went out and took a look. The tracking bar is just a little off of horizontal now after installing the Rocky Road 2.25" lift. So I took a crude measurement off of the side of the body of the jeep to a particular part on the tread of my tire. It appears that the axle sticks out the driverside an eighth of an inch more than the passenger side. Given the angle of the tracking bar, I would guess if it was extended about an eighth of an inch the axle would be correctly centered. For now I'll just take right turns faster!

Thanks for looking into this. I wonder if the rear is not a full 2.25. An eighth of an inch is not much at all. My JK was almost a full inch off center.

FWIW: My tire guy talked me out of the above listed KM2's. I guess they are "E" load rated and would ride like crap. I'm going with good ole BFG AT's that are a little bigger and a little cheaper.

The 4" superlift kit uses a track bar relocation bracket, so there is no track bar measurement difference. I don't know about the BDS 4" kit

Looks like there is no way a shad tree mechanic could install the Superlift himself.
