hello all, My name is JJ, I am a long time viewer of this forum but this is my first post. I have visited this forum hundreds of times since I got my commander but have never posted because most of you guys have had the same questions I've had and I was able to find answers using the search option. It seems daystar lifts are not al that popular on here so I thought I would post a pick of my commander.
specs:
2006 cammander base
3.7L
2" daystar lift
BF Goodrich 265/70/17 Rugged trail T/A tires
generic high flow intake from fleabay

Now down to the part about the leveling:
the day star lift in my commander is nice, maintains factory ride and currently has no squeaks, rattles or wierd noises. only problem that really bugs the hell outta me is that the front still sits slightly lower than the rear. I want to get the rocky road leveling spacer to help level out the front. Does anyone think it is a waste of time? and was also wondering if I put a high grade steel washer or two betweeen the leveling plate and the strut to give it a little extra lift would be safe? or would I run the risk of snapping the studs on the top of the struts? I drive my truck on road only most of the time, but take the ocasional off road trip when the mood strikes me. any help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.
JJ

Good deal! I ordered them last night. Ill have em some time this week. Anyone know if its possible to get em on without removing the bottom of the strut and without unbolting the upper control arm?

Yes that possible. Just the 4 nuts under the hood that hold the strut in need to be unbolted.

They should definitely help your daystar lift up front. Before I switched to OME + RRO spacer, I was in the same boat with the daystar kit, it just seemed so un-lifted up front compared to the RRO or RC spacer lifts.

07jeepxk:
Thanks for the info. Ill probly put em in when I get em later this week. Ill report how it went.

Psycho:
I can't believe no one besides rc and ome designed there lift to level out the front and rear. Don't know too much about the ome lifts but it seems you can always tell when a commander has a rc lift in it. Daystar advertises that they're lift levels out the front and rear, and it does to and extent. But no comparison the rc lift. If I could have a different lift I would go with the rc, its a no brainer to me.

After switching from the daystar kit to the OME HD struts/springs with RRO 3/8" spacer, I gained over 3 1/2" in the front alone, that makes me wonder if I was even getting any lift at all out of the daystar front spacers.

Hey guys I have the Rough country leveling kit on mine and it lifted the front a total of 4 in. and I am sitting level. The one thing that I noticed is that RC is the only lift that is made with steel, all of the other ones are a neoprene and they give after time.

here is my commander now with rocky road leveling spacer and 1.25" wheel spacers. I'm pretty happy with it for now. gonna plasti-dip the wheels and front grill black and see how it turns out.

The plasti dipped wheels/grill will look real good with the silver paint job of your XK.

I have the same daystar kit on my 06 wk gc and the front does sit lower then the rear. And compared to my wifes 07 xk with the rc lift kit it sat lower then my wifes. So i made a 1'2.5 lift kit for the front on my wk from the old strut plates and fixed the problem but then the front sat higher then the rear so i used the old strut spring rubbers and put them in the rear now i got it where i want it height wise.

Can I use 2" daystar with Emu?

I have a 09 commander with a 2" daystar . We just got done building a bumper with a winch that's about 220lb. My front is sitting to low now for my 265/70-17.. Can I add the oldman Emu Hd springs with the daystar without changing more parts or do I need to take daystar out and go with smaller tires?
