Has anyone tried the 255/80/17 tires with 2" lift. It's 1.25" taller than a factory Rubi tire that alot of people use but the same width. Im thinking about trying it for a little extra clearance. Might have too massage wheel well but was hoping someone has done it.

Your numbers are a little skewed.

I'm running 265/70R17's and they have a sidewall height 1.03 inches higher than the stock 245/65R17's.

255/80R17's have a sidewall height 1.76 inches higher then the stock 245/65R17's so you should gain at least that much additional ride height.

Looks like he is comparing them to the Jeep JK Rubicon tire that people tend to run which is 255/75r17 Not sure where the numbers are coming from though:

On a 2" lift you'd rub, and limit your flex. You could trim the wheel wells up a bit and that might help though. Pinchweld absolutely needs to be modded. Usually guys running 33" tires are on a superlift (4") or atleast a modded OME ~3"

What 2" lift are you running?

Good catch lucky - I didn't notice the "Rubi" reference.

The KM2 255/80/17's are 33.3" and the 255/75/17 KM are 32.1. That about 1.25 taller. I like the height of them without the width. About same height as a 285/70/17 without the width. The width with the Commander seems too be the problem. I don't want too goto the 4" SL. Thanks for any input
