3.0 CRD - Correct Idling Speed

151 Views 3 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  rblapham
I recently did a 'Live Scan' on my 3.0 CRD to check on a few issues. I noted that the idling speed was 620 r.p.m. which seems a little on the low side to me. Does anyone know what the correct idling speed should be for the 3.0 CRD ?

Looked for the CRD idle speed but could not find, turn it up if you want. Did see this though - it may be necessary
for the ECM to increase the engine idle speed to ensue adequate engine lubrication.

Thank you for your reply. How do I increase the idling speed, I thought that was determined by the ECU?
Yes I think its programmable, not like the old days of turning a screw :giggle:
If I have some time later I'll see if it's in the service manual, but when looking for idle speed I didn't see that subject.
