3"-4" lift or parts list to achieve this.

1434 Views 30 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  Durk
Has anyone been able to find a 3-4" lift since the last posting? I really want to run 33s when I buy mine and cant find kits anywhere. if there are not kits can some one give me a parts list of what worked for them so achieve that lift? I want it to still ride well so I'm willing to spend the money and do it right.

Also, when a commander is lifted to that height what are some issues that arise?

If you don't currently own a Commander @lee.geoff2015 - which is what you said in your profile why are you talking about running 33's on yours?

If you own a Commander - update your signature in accordance with the forum rules.

Thank you.

Yes I currently do not own one but I am actively looking and have been for some time. When I do find the one I am after I plan on lifting it to fit 33" tires and turning it into my wheeling rig. I am new to the commander model (Had an XJ prior) and just wanted to reach out to folks here to get my game plan set so I can begin to make moves as soon as I get it.

I gotcha.

I think at this point since the Superllift is no longer an option, you're best results will probably be by mixing & matching individual components, although that will almost certainly be, a little more costly.

I'm glad I sprung for the 4 inch Superlift when I did, back in October of 2018.

I already had JBA UCA's for lifted XK's installed, but my stock front LCA's were shot, so, I upgraded my front LCA's with a nice set of Moogs, so, that added additional cost to the job.

I wasn't happy at the time with how much I spent on it, but looking back on it now, taking into account the current lack of lift-kit options for Commanders, it was definitely money well spent.

Not sure this helps if you're dead-set on 33s, but I'm running 32s with just a 2 inch RC lift and no spacers or pinch weld modification. However, I do think it's my specific tire brand/model ( 255 75 17 Bridgestone Dueler A/T rh-s ) as many do get rubbing with this set-up.

Dang I'm jealous Big Blue, your commander is real sick. That's a similar look I'm going for. Is your lift a 3" or 4"? Hopefully i can find a great XK here soon and get started on my rig.

Thanks @lee.geoff2015 ; It's the 4 inch Superlift on 33 inch tires. LT285/70/17 Good Year Wrangler DuraTracs.

From a ride height standpoint, not much of a difference at all, between @Arapahoe & I.

Here is a pic of us side by side, from last year's Florida meet & greet, he has a very nice set-up.

yeah that's exactly what I'm planning on doing. Do you know a part list of the items that made up that lift? How does she drive with that setup?

A little bit confusing - who were you asking?
Sorry I apologize for the confusion. I was asking you Big Blue

I can't list all the parts verbatim, but, I can show you a pic;

This is all of the components the 4 inch Superlift included, which also included an Electronic Geometry Recalibration Module, which recalibrates the electronic stability control, to compensate for the extra lift.

Dang that’s a lot of parts. I better get looking for everything. Test drove my first commander yesterday and loved it. I’m definitely hooked. Unfortunately it wasn’t the right one for me.

As for the ride, it rides & takes the bumps fine, but, you can feel the difference when turning (wider turning radius now) & in the handling in general.

It feels like a lifted 4x4.

That being said, I drive a little more cautiously now, then I used to.

Anybody have experience with this kit? I am wondering if I could use it as a starting point and then add new coils and such. Thoughts?

What kit @lee.geoff2015 ?

I don't see a link to anything.
Oops, I Apologize. Below. Seems like a very lean kit

Never heard of them;

I'd go with a more proven kit;

This is the one that @Arapahoe has;

Sweet couple of Jeeps!! Hey, just as a side note, when this pic was taken I had a smaller size tire vs the 275 55 17 (32") I have currently installed.

Good deal, we're probably at about the same ride-height now.
