yes, auto trany fluid and transfer case fluid the same. Thanx for the info. It makes it lot easier but harder sometimes to do self work here in Germany. As euro rate and all makes it SUPER expensive to get work done. Example: If I bring the dealer engine oil and oil filter, it still cost me about USD $ 100. I can hardly wait to get back to the states and go 4x4 ing. Thanx all!

I thought every 30,000 miles for transfer case, and every 15000 miles is very excessive as when you drain oils it still looks fresh and clean. I just can't imagine synthetic oil breaking down that quick. As with spark plugs, they still look great (prob for MDS and fuel economy) at 30,000 miles. But I guess after warranty ends, each owner makes their own decision.

looking up something and I came across this thread. Auto tranny and NV245 oil are not the same thing!!! The QT-I uses ATF+4 fluid, the QT-II and QD-II use as special Mopar NV245/247 (P/N 05016796AB) gear oil available at the dealer only. Just wanted to share since I learned this after reading the owners manual (which has incorrect info in it) and then seeing that the fluid that came out of my t-case was not red trans fluid but gear oil.
