Accelerator Pedal Removal

Help! I have adjustable pedals that do not seemed to be responding to the electronic signals. I have pulled the cable coming from the drive motor located on the break and tested the forward/back buttons. Break moves forward and back responding to the button signals as expected, and the cable going to the accelerator pedal spins accordingly. My only conclusion is that the accelerator pedal is stuck or jammed up some how.

My first thought is to pull the pedal and see if i can clear the jam, but it is the gas pedal and that makes me a little nervous to mess with (safety thing).

Before I invest in the dealer trying to figure this out, I would like to check here if anyone has come across this problem and what they did to fix it.

Any help on this would be great! Pics would be greatly appreciated as well.
