I took another look at the seat mounting bolts, and I got the airbag light to go off when the seat was empty.
Had thought the 2 bolts in the seat track transferred weight data to the sensor. They just hold the sensor on the track. It seems to be the smaller bolt in the jackscrew attachment point also bolts to the sensor. This must be what gives the input about the weight of an occupant. I backed it off about a quarter turn, and tightened it little by little until the yellow light went out. There is a sensor at each corner, so I was probably lucky with having to fiddle with just one bolt.
I did a full adult check in the seat, and the light stayed off. Then I used a smaller "guestimated"weight of a child in a car seat, and the light came on. System is supposed to act like that, and prevent airbag going off on an infant. View attachment 43357 Hood Automotive tire Automotive lighting Motor vehicle Vehicle
