I am not sure how many others are looking for an all aluminum radiator but after some looking across the web I came across this one. It was time for me to replace my stock one as its lacking i'm not sure if anyone has worked with the company but I purchased the radiator. The item is not a stocked product so they are built to order which is okay since I am not in a hurry of any sort. Once it come in i'll snap a few shots of it. It's listed as direct bolt in replacement.

$750 for a radiator? Thats a serious unit. I have not heard of any problems with our factory rad that necessitates such an investment.

Aluminum radiators are typically used on racing vehicles because they are lighter and help shave some weight off the vehicle. They are also typically, a little more efficient at dissipating heat.

I'm not saying there is anything wrong with it - but at the same time, from an off-road perspective, I don't see any real benefit from installing one either.

Guess it's just a matter of personal preference.

Now all that being said, there are some caveats right in this radiator's product description that would give me pause;

Please note that this radiator is thicker than the stock radiator this will push the fan and shroud closer to the motor. This will only created an issue for applications with the tow package that are running a mechanical fan and an electric puller fan. If you have a tow package and need to upgrade your cooling system this radiator will physically mount in your car, however you will not have enough room for your mechanical fan blade. In this case you should also consider upgrade to one of the 3 fan options that we offer.

All aluminum radiators also require a looser fit or they will fracture and leak. Make sure that the feet are not tight in the frame and that the mounting brackets are not too stiff.

Big Blue you are correct on the space aspect for tow applications also for the guys that have moved to the 6.1. None of the fans shown will fit, their brushless fan is the only option space wise. I do not off road and I switched to a 6.1 so there was a long more benefit for me.

I bought a similar all aluminum radiator for my ram pre-runner. it was $200 on ebay....made of pure chinesium, but been on the truck for over a year with no issues. works so well (too well in fact) that i could throw a (vehicle operating below normal temp) code if i cranked the heat in my truck. I had to use HP tuners to shut that code off.

so 2 points,
1. thats ungodly expensive.... i don't pay $700 for my race car radiators (also all aluminum and polished)
2. they can work "too well" for a daily driver. you're not going to shut that code off with anything less than HP, or a diablo and a tune.

Yep, I wasn't aware of this when I posted my initial response.

So for your application, this makes perfect sense.

I am curious. You say you switched to the 6.1 but your sig says 4.7. What was need to switch up to the 6.1?

Flex there is not an option for the 6.1 in the sig or I could have just done something wrong. And there is not a real need but in my case I was at work and told my wife to not drive the mander. I started it that morning and it just didn't seem right so I left it. She drove it any way then the water pump blew she continued to drive because she was scared to get caught in it. I'm sure you can follow what happened to that 4.7. Thats how I guilted her into replacing it with a 6.1 from cleveland power and performance from her account not mine.

You misunderstand me brother. It was supposed to read, what was needed? I am not saying why the hell would you want to, l am asking what did you need to do in order to make the swap work. I am a big fan of more ponies.

Flex I am sorry man. For you not much is needed since you have a 5.7 originally. The mounts on the 5.7 are the same as the 6.1 so it will bolt in without a problem. You would need to flash the computer or change it but that is not a big ticket change. Now the issue that you will run into is that you have a 4wd. There is a clearance issue in on 4wd with the oil pan and front differential. I had to order a different oil pan then have a welder shorten it for clearance.

No worries. Damn cell auto corrected to need. I wonder if the oil pan needed to be modded because it was not a Commander pan? I saw some stroker kits for the 5.7 but they were $2000.

Actually, the reason I asked is there was a local wrecking a vehicle with low km's and a 392 in it. He was only asking $850 CAD for the block.
