After looking around the forum, it seems this is common thing for people with 06-07 commander looking for a way to plug a ipod in.

We have a 06 jeep commander and I'm trying to find the best option to hook up a ipod. The commander as the basic 6 cd changer, fm, am etc. Dosent have a auxiliary port sadly. I can't decide between just throwing auxiliary port in or just replacing it and nav system instead that has a auxiliary port/capable of it. I'm willing to pay $700ish at most. But if there are cheaper options availabe, that'd be great.

I know with certain nav systems etc. Certain options on the commander wont work anymore, like the rear assist(I think thats what its called) and being able to adjust the music etc from the steering wheel.

Basically, what'd you prefer todo. Is there anything people would recommend? I mean, I just want to get the best for my money.

Thanks

Another one. This one looks like the berries, control of ipod through radio & steering wheel, plus additional RCA input for another device like cell phone music or other devices. I like this because I have a Rhapsody account with my cell, this allows me to transfer and listen to music without purchasing each track. Just a monthly service fee, and completely legal.

Couple notes on this one:
  • Factory radio MUST be a 6 disc indash CD changer.
  • If the vehicle has factory Video Entertainment it will no longer work with this adapter.
