I picked up my first Commander a month or so ago (first Jeep too). It's a 2010 3.7L V6 and I love it so far.

I'd like to throw in a 2" Rough Country lift and get some 265/70/17 BG Goodrich AT KO2s.

Before I spend the money, can anyone tell me if the V6 can handle the bigger tires?

I've also been considering 265/65/17s but really prefer the 70s.

Off-roading will be pretty modest - mostly for accessing camping, biking, fishing with more clearance and capability.

I'd appreciate any insights from those with experience with the V6 set up. Thanks!

Last November I had an OME HD lift installed along with a set of 255/75/17 BF Goodrich MT. The 255/75/17 are a hair taller and a hair narrower than the 265/70/17. My 3.7 has handled them just fine so far

I've been running 255/70r18's for some time now with the 3.7l

Hypertech tune is my only performance mod. Its fine. Its slow, but it was always slow.

I had the same set-up on a 2008 Grand Cherokee Rocky Mountain Edition with the 3.7L V6 and ran it like that for a couple of years, I never had any issues.

Granted the Commanders are heavier, but, I don't think it makes that much of a difference.
