no its not too late . we have 90 days to have the car and then say we dont want it.
this dealer keeps on giving me the runaround with evrything.
we were getting the 8/80,000 and they never filled out the paperwork until now and i dont even know if its legit. all it is a white paper with a bunch of stuff checked off and one signature we never signed it nor did anyone other then one person.
give me a break here i have a feeling there is something wrong with the car and they keep ignoring me.
we just sent back in cuz they were suppose to put 4 new tires and they only did 2 . so they said come back and we will do the other 2. so we did and get it back and completly flat tire next morning.
just trying to see if they are up to something. sorry i was asking for some help. i just figured since we are all commander owners we stick to gether and help others out. i know i would if someone thought the dealer was screwing them over.

I understand your predicament. Given what you have a stake, if you think there was a previous problem, then I think you should spend the $30 and get the car fax.

Actually, if your not happy and you have 90 days to change your mind, you might want to do it now and go shopping elsewhere. Do you need the car fax in order to undo the deal?

Well most here would be willing to spend $30 on a 10-15K investment (or greater!). I myself an having a hard time trying to figure out why you will not spend the $30 for peace of mind...

Yes we do stick together! Be we also point out when someone is not thinking rationally...

While I can understand your frustration with the dealer concerned for not following through with items that may or may not have been agreed on, I am not sure how a Carfax report is going to help your case?

You state that you asked the dealer to provide a 8/80k mile warranty, Carfax won't help with that, the new tires you agreed on, Carfax won't help with that either.

All Carfax will allow you to find out is if it has been in an accident, that has been reported, (not all accidents are reported), it will show any recorded maintenance on the vehicle and previous owner history.

You also talk about wanting to take the car back in 90 days if you are not happy... this is between you and the dealership, not Carfax.

However, if you choose to go this route, and you still want a Carfax report, it would be prudent to buy the $39.99 version that not only will tell you about the Jeep you have in your hand at the moment, but also a Carfax on any other potential vehicles you look at to replace the one you have. That way, you are in the know of what you are buying.

Carfax doesn't protect everything. I had a Carfax report on my XK before I bought it, it was clean as a whistle, but upon getting the vehicle home, I could see that it had been painted on the rear bumper, a good job, but I could notice it, after I cleaned it. The new paintwork wasn't reported to Carfax.

I have had to have warranty work done on the XK too, but Carfax can't protect you from that either.

My advice, get the Carfax so you have the facts to hand, but bear in mind, from what you are stating above, with the tires, and the warranty promise, Carfax won't help you, that is between you and the dealer... not Carfax.

you all give good points.
i just figured i would ask if someone has access to free carfax before i spent the money on one. thats all.
also i know carfax wont do anything with the warranty or anything with the dealer. i justhave a feeling the dealer is hiding something from me and does not want me to know.
they also told me when i bought it that. is just came in from a lease so i asked then before we bought about a carfax and they told me they could not do it cuz its not there car. come to find out the original person who lease the car leased it from the dealer i got it from. so it was there car. the way i found that out was from the original sticker

A Little Help

Man, you guys are brutal. All the guy did was ask for a little help. I haven't been here long and it's becoming more and more clear that I don't belong with this group. Forget that we're supposed to be gathered here with a common interest, the guy is a human being. EVERYONE needs help from time to time.

well after motorcity was a nice guy and helped out(some people should follow his footsteps) come to find out i was right the car was in an accident. trying to find out how bad now.
thats why the dealer is trying to keep the info from me.
i also had them check out a noise in the front end when it went in for the tires but they say there is no noise. it sounds like struts or something. could be from accident.

Seein' as how you're not completely comfortable with your dealer and the situation I would return this one and look elsewhere.

You are making a huge investment and you need to be completely satisfied and happy with your purchase.

I have never heard of a 90 day return, the closest we have to that around here is 3 days and that is only at one local dealer.

Don't to to turned off by some of the posts here. Some of it is the new people failing to do a simple search to answer their own questions. I don't know how many "What is..." questions I've read.

My biggest thing is all the "Hi New here" posts. There is a stickied thread at the top of the forum that most overlook. But big deal, if they can't bother to post in the thread that was stickied for that purpose then I can't be bothered to read all the "New here" posts. ....................Just Kidding!!

Bottom line is it's just a forum.

If you have the chance try "CarProof" I found they have better info than CarFax.

I ran a CarProof on the Commander I bought and the dealer had told me basicly every detail that was in it before hand, it made me feel more conmfortable buying from him, knowing that.

Let us know how your's works out
