Hi guys, I'm new to the forum and I have a question for you, I've owned a 07 Limited 5.7 Commander for about 3 years now and I wnt to upgrade it. I thought about a new exhaust system, but searching the web I realize there are some supercharger options for this engine, so my question is, can I? Would it be good for a 112000 plus engine? Thanks in advanced for your feedback!

Yes you can, but I would not recommend it. You're not just looking at the supercharger bolt on, you're also looking at a full bottom-end rebuild too. You're going to need to drop the fuel tank, replace the pump with a higher CFM unit, larger injectors, and a tune. You'll be looking at about $6,000 before it's all over. Unless you print money in your basement, stay away from forced induction.

OH WOW! I didn't realize how much will it take, on the other hand what can I do that is not that expensive to boost the power up?

As far as power adders go, you've already completed step one in doing the exhaust. A cold air intake would be step number 2. Next, I would look into a handheld tuner. These can change your shift points for more aggressive acceleration, you can push MPG tunes for better gas mileage, and a myriad of other things too!

But other than that, that's pretty much the whole host of power adding things without dropping thousands of dollars.

But! There are lots of other things you can do to maybe create more power or at the very least bring your 5.7 back to its former glory. I'd start with new plugs and coils, then do a full synthetic oil change with a new air filter/CAI kit.

This isn't for power, just a friendly reminder, the weather is getting colder and your tire pressure is dropping nightly, make sure you keep your tires inflated to the recommended PSI for best gas mileage and ride quality!

Changing out the exhaust manifolds and swapping in SRT Grand Cherokee factory headers will add 36 hp. There is a specific one to get. You will need to program out the EGR or add an EGR crossover to the passenger manifold.

The factory cat pipe is also very restrictive as it is a pipe within a pipe. When I did the SRT'S, my brother replaced the pipe sections with true 2.5" pipe. I also ditched the factory muffler and installed a Flowmaster 50 SUV muffler. It is very quiet until you punch it.

I also installed a 25% underdrive balancer. It was a bit painful because it needs a special remove / install tool but it was a 12 hp swap.

BBK makes an 85mm and 90mm throttle body for the hemi. The 85mm will work with a very light port match while the 90mm requires a bit more. This can be done on the vehicle. I stuffed the intake opening with rags pushed in really tight. I then used a flapper wheel to blend it out to about 88mm. I then sucked up the dust with a shop vac and pullled out the rags.

The factory air tube is horrid. It is sub 60mm at the silencer and way smaller than the 80mm throttle body. Aftermarkets like the AEM will let it breathe way better.

Comp has three cam choices that add from 30 hp to 80hp to a hemi. They will need a tune.

The Diablo sport Trinity programmer can substantially increase hp at the bottom and top end of the engine.
